If I was a craftier person, I’d love to make little felt figures for Ellie and Jackson for their birthdays! But seeing as I’m not, this little nod will have to do! Thanks, Bloesem for the review! Love the little Ms. Fox!
My new favorite! Bee Correspondence Cards from the MET! What’s not to like about these golden jewels? I’ve already made so many notes to friends and family and love the little spell they’ve cast on me.
I’d also LOVE to have at some point in my lifetime a signet ring made with this same bumble bee. It would become my family crest, so to say, and I can just see it being passed down from generation to generation. Because really, what other symbol would be better for a hard-working family?
Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava is working on designs for DIA’s south terminal makeover, including a FasTracks train station, a Westin hotel and a rail bridge over Pena Boulevard.
Thanks to the folks at We Love Typography, you can spend hours searching for font-related images in the color of __________ (insert color here). Today I’m feeling YELLOW.
Check out Let’s Colour Project… I think this is a brilliant idea! Colors change our mood and the way we respond to things. What do you think about painting your city?
Grey is out. Gloom is gone. It’s time to live our lives in colour.
The Let’s Colour Project is a worldwide initiative from Dulux, Dulux Valentine, Coral and Marshall to transform grey spaces with colourful paint. A mission to spread colour all over the world.
We are working together with local communities across the globe, rolling up our sleeves to paint streets, houses, schools and squares.
My Paul Frank iPhone cover has finally seen it’s last phone call. It was a good run, Julius.
In hopes of getting a new PF iPhone cover, I ordered the I ♥ Julius case from the Apple store. One day later, I was informed by the company that they were completely sold out and no longer for sale. Everywhere I checked they were out! Imagine that! So after searching for the last couple weeks, I decided to create my own case at Get Uncommon.
You can imagine the process of finding the perfect image. I searched every single design website, Flickr picture, and drawing, but nothing fit. So what I came up with was trendy, design worthy, historical, oh so English, and bright red. Yes, it is the extremely popular Keep Calm and Carry On poster circa WWII. I still love it, and that’s a testament of good design. (and I got a coupon!)
Visit the Get Uncommon website and get in touch with your creative side.
Are you currently plotting your course for global domination? Do you wish to have an empire in which the “sun never sets?” If so, you should probably invest in this charming map of the world, pins included, from You and Me the Royal We via Famille Summerbelle.
Looking for the perfect way to teach your little ones the English Alphabet? Let Wes Anderson help you out.
The folks at Hexagonall via Design Your Trust created alphabet tiles based on Wes Anderson characters. (They’ll learn later in life that some people in the world have issues they need to deal with, but everyone in the end reconciles their emotional disfunction – see all Wes Anderson movies).
By the way, have you visited Rushmore Academy lately? It’s one of my favorite sites!
*if you notice above, I believe it is Ned Plimpton, not Plinton.
Charming, aren’t they? The kangaroo caught my eye, mostly because I’m missing cousin Kari (sniff). She lives in Australia with her beau, Ian. One of these days Joseph and I will make it to Oz!!!
I just discovered Lisa’s little blog! Lisa is a beautiful dancer and I am so thankful she is back in the studio after an injury. She helps me (all the time) learn new steps and has amazing footwork! She is also really fun to talk to and hang out with in class. Little did I know that she too is an artist! Much more than I am, I just help people become better artists, but she actually gets to be creative and display works on her blog. I love this series of imaginary office bugs! Do you think they know Jim & Dwight? Lisa might help inspire me for the summer months – drawing, printmaking, photography, and sewing anyone?
