Thrift Store Finds – Tea

I’m enjoying my Earl Green tea. I have recently acquired an antique tea tin from Jacksons of Piccadilly, in which I keep my tea freshly waiting for me every morning and afternoon. I love the thrift store because A. I can drop off the unwanted, clearing my flat for future finds, B. my undesirables become new treasures for someone else, C. it is the ultimate form of recycling, D. it is easy on my wallet!

What are some good finds you have come upon at the thrift store? Anything that should be featured on Antiques Roadshow? Memories from childhood? Your favorite coffee mug?

Avoca, Ireland

When I found Avoca during my study abroad in Ireland, it seemed I had unearthed a little treasure that to the rest of the globe was a secret. To me it was a haven of softly dyed scarves, blankets, trinkets for the hearth and home, simple cookbooks full of centuries old recipes (with a modern twist), and the smells of freshly baked bread and soup (upstairs in the Avoca cafe).

I brought home jams for father, a lilac scarf with hand embroidered detail, the Avoca cookbook, and an oat-colored wool lap blanket with the Avoco label carefully stitched in the corner. It was like a European Anthropologie! What’s not to love?!

Since I’m currently unable to jet-set over to Dublin, it pleases me to find Avoca’s website up and running with a wide selection of their goods to choose from. I think the scarves and blankets make brilliant gifts – especially the pink baby blanket! How adorable!

Weave a Hug!

XOXO, V&N
